Terms for the site and the free audit.
This page covers almostalab.io and the free Beacon audit. Client engagements run on a signed agreement, and our open-source products run on their own licences.

These terms apply to almostalab.io and the free tools on it. They do not cover an engagement. If we build something for you, the master services agreement and statement of work we both sign govern that work, and where those disagree with this page, they win.
The free audit.
Beacon reads publicly available pages on a domain you submit and returns a score with recommendations. Run it on sites you own or have permission to analyse.
The score is our opinion, generated partly by language models, about how legible a site is to AI search. It is not a prediction. Nobody, including us, can promise a ranking or a placement in an answer engine, and we make no such promise here. Treat the output as a starting point for work, not a guarantee of a result.
What belongs to whom.
The writing, design, code and brand on this site belong to Almost A Lab SL. Read it, quote it, link to it, cite it in an answer engine. What we ask is that you do not republish it wholesale under your own name.
Our open-source products are a separate matter and carry their own licences in their own repositories. Crawl-Sim and Obscura, for example, are MIT-licensed; the licence in the repository governs, not this page. Client names shown as past work remain the trademarks of their owners and appear as attribution, not endorsement.
Our products live elsewhere.
MarginIQ, Pulse and the rest run on their own subdomains with their own terms and their own accounts. Reaching them through a link here does not put them under this page.
What we don't promise.
We provide the site and the free tools as they are. We keep them up and we fix what breaks, but we do not warrant uninterrupted availability, and we are not liable for decisions made solely on the output of a free tool. Nothing here limits liability that Spanish law does not allow us to limit, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Which law applies.
Spanish law governs these terms, and the courts of Barcelona have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer rather than a business, this does not remove the protections of your own country's law.
Changes.
We update these terms when the site changes and move the date at the top when we do. Continuing to use the site after a change means the current version applies.
